Problem
Containment needed for dredged material of Cape Fear River.

Solution
Flexible SF 11 coupled with SF 500, a heavy woven polyester fabric provided a stable site for the dregded material of the Cape Fear River.

When Hollywood needed someone to make Cape Fear successful, it turned to DeNiro and Nolte. When the Army Corps of Engineers needed to deepen the Cape Fear River channel, it turned to Synteen’s SF 11 and SF 500.

The river dredge will be pumped into three disposal cells situated between wetlands of the Cape Fear and Brunswick Rivers.

The wet bottomland of the cells were lined with 17’ wide SF 11 followed by a layer of sand. The SF 11 allowed heavy equipment to perform flawlessly.

The SF 500, a heavy woven polyester fabric, was placed over the geogrid-reinforced sand.

SF 11 was chosen because of its high strength, ease of installation, wide roll width and the service and support given by the Synteen sales staff.
